No kisses please

Image from here
It has come to my attention that Doo Dah doesn't like kisses. The other kids lavish me in kisses. More kisses than a person can bear on some days. But the Doo Dah? Not so much. He likes to hug. And pat my arm.

I asked him about it the other day. He giggled a bit and said he prefers 'squeezies' (hugs).

"Any particular reason?" I asked.

"I just don't like kissing" he said.

I asked him to plant one on my cheek. Just to see his form.

He brushed his scrunched up lips against my cheek, then giggled behind his hand.

"That's it." He announced. "No more kisses from me. They are yucky!"

So we are on hugging terms only. He is a funny thing.

Are you a kisser or a hugger?

Always a tough one. I'm a hugger more than a kisser, unless it's a chubby bubby then I just want to kiss their chubby cheeks.
My Muddy Kids vary, some are huggers are some are kissers, nice to have some variety!

Well, I guess physical touch is probably not his Love Language!

He probably much prefers that you spend time with him (Quality Time), or do things for him (Acts of Service). Perhaps he just like Presents (Gifts), or lots of lovely things said about him (Words of Affirmation).

My first love language is physical touch, so I don't understand how someone wouldn't want kisses! But he's right. Perhaps someone spitting on your cheeks/lips (sort of) isn't that nice.

My boys feel ripped off if they don't get a hundred kisses and at least five raspberries on their tummy before bed. It's a kiss overkill at our place. (I bet Doo Dah is thankful he lives at your place!)

This is just so gorgeous! Aren't they funny with their little idiosyncrasies? Angus told us the other day that he prefers 'receiving' kisses from his dad, but prefers 'giving' kisses to me. Go figure!? Love a child who knows what he wants ;o)
Personally, I'm a bit of a kisser. Like a good hug, but I find the kiss so much quicker, easier and more convenient. You can do it with arms full of stuff, out a car window, on the fly out the door, in a crowded place... you get the gist. I'll stop now! xo

I get kisses from all my kids, smoochy ones too lately from the 2yr old - he likes to throw his whole body weight onto me, grab my face in both hands and plant one on my lips. It's so gross but so wonderful at the same time. He's a funny little thing.
Mr 3 doesn't like kisses at bedtime but is fine with it any other time throughout the day. And Miss 5 is all delicate and princessy about kissing. They all love hugs too. And me? I'm a bit of both.

I'm going to say both.

I'm more of a hugger but I do like smothering my boys with kisses from time to time. Their chubby little cheeks are just so darn kissable.

Both! Except when you kiss a full mouth kisser.

Quick kiss...so not a hugger...personal space issues...Twin Girl the same, Twin Boy is a smoocher but not in public and Little Bit is an octopus, all over me. My parents were not affectionate so have always wondered if it is a learned trait??

My lovely Grandmother used to hold us in a squeeze and absolutely cover our faces with kisses - it's funny to notice how many of my cousins (and me too), as parents, now do the same thing to their squirming, giggling children.

I'm thrilled to bits to be able to read your blog again, MM - yay for new technology and a working computer! x

my son loves to plant kisses on my cheek all the time, but my girls prefer hugs.

Ooooooh! It took AGES but Mr 2 is now the world's most beautiful kisser and I dread the day he reverts.

Me, I am NOT the world's most affectionate person, so I am so pleased he loves a kiss and a cuddle.

It's really funny, my 2 kids are kissers, and I'm a hugger, so I like them, but they also make me go Ew when I get these big sloppy kisses :P
