The wet patch - the perils of co-sleeping Part 4

Image from here
As if nits weren't bad enough?!?

Last night, Nugget had trouble falling asleep. He was scared of the dark, had imagined a monster living in the cupboard, and didn't want to return to his bed.

We assured him he would be okay. He wasn't alone. Doo Dah was in the room snoring like a truckie in the bottom bunk. But it wasn't enough.

The Geege appeased him by allowing him to slink into our bed, unbeknownst to me. I got the shock of my life when I flicked the light in the bedroom as I got ready for bed. I think I even let out a short scream as I realised someone was in my bed, until I realised that someone was Nugget. The slink.

I assumed that the Geege would relocate Nugget to his own bed when he came into ours, so I read for a bit and then turned out the light. Only, last night the Geege didn't come to bed. He was found with his feet hanging off the edge of Nugget's bunk bed this morning.

Nugget slept the whole night in our bed. Not a peep. Including, importantly for this story, no midnight wake-up for a pee (his usual form). Consequently, he did his midnight wee in our bed. With me next to him!

I was horrified when I realised in the morning that I had slept inches, inches I tell  you, from Nugget's wee.

This co-sleeping has simply got to stop.

Have you had the joy of a wet patch in your bed? (tee he)

I have experienced this unpleasant con of co-sleeping. Except, my son sleeps cuddles to my back, so the wee was considerably closer. Yuck!

Oh when I saw the title, I simply had to read this one pronto ;o) I must say I am enjoying your perils of co-sleeping series very much. It sounds like your household is as chaotic as ours. Angus has woken crying every night for at least a week, mumbling of bad dreams about spiderman and dogs and pigeons! I am always so dog tired myself, I just slump down where I can and go back to sleep. Ah the joys... but thankfully, no wet patches to date xo

Sorry but I giggled.
Mostly at the thought of The Geege sleeping in a bunk bed with his feet hanging out.
At least you didn't wake up IN the wee, right?

Mine slinkyedin early morning and cuddled up , wee'd on my hip &pjs. Though got a few leaky night cloth nappies once they got to 2 . Switched back to disposables.
Thank goodness they're been dry at night since 3 because we get one most nights or early morning.

Of course I've had the joy of a wet patch in bed. And the even greater joy of being the wet patch. Nothing will wake you up quicker than realizing you have been peed all over! Thank god those days are over! Good luck to you & the co-sleeping thing.

Yep, last week. It's like a game of musical beds in our house some night and last week I woke up with M1 in the bed and a wet patch between us. MM ended up in the boys' room. What can you do? Crap advice, I know, but I've got nothing! x

Lol our youngest often ends up in our bed. He's still in a nappy and thankfully no leaks!

Wee patches, drool patches, spew patches.... every kind of wet patch. It ends, eventually. (also, tee hee)

Not a peep?

Think of it as birth control.

Eeeeek! We are no longer plaugued. Just as I was about to put a ban on the "5 in the bed" problem, it dwindled all by itself.

Charlie occasionally sneaks in. I like it.

And Lexie and I often have a nap together at weekends.

But if anyone creates a wet patch...it's all over...

xx

Love this one and I am sad to say it seems we(e) too have experienced them all.

We had 3am fighting over positions in the bed last night with the man of the house cracking under pressure and retreating to the bunk beds.

I say it all. The. Time C...'this co-sleeping has to stop!.

Haven't had a wet patch in the bed but I got up the other morning to get Mr2 a bottle (he was on my hip) then put him in our bed and then realised I was wet. All down my side. Serious nappy leakage there. Eww!! But thankfully not in the bed... Vinegar and water should get the smell out with a good dose of sunshine.

At least you weren't sleeping on the wee!
Our preschooler ALWAYS loved her own bed, never wanted to sleep in ours, my Pixie however loves a good snuggle and often ended up in our bed, tossing and turning.
Hope you get a better sleep tonight.

Ooh lovely! We've just moved my son in to his big boy bed so there has been many a disrupted nights sleep here too. Thankfully not with a wet patch. The bears, the Gruffalo and the big bad wolf have been causing a few dramas recently though. Never a dull moment!

Happened to us and worse still it was while we were visiting mum so not even our bed. Very embarrassing. Now this is going to sound ridiculous but we've been using a toilet training app on the iPad, littlest loves it and it's proving quite a motivator, it's American, sickly sweet and awful really (we're singing the Potty time song around the house) but whatever works to avoid cleaning up those little messes.
